Web 2.0

The perceived evolution of the Web from a first generation, or original, incarnation into a second generation incarnation. The second-generation Web may be broadly characterized by its greater emphasis on user-generated content, the proliferation of social networking, the widespread adoption of services such as free blogging, and a resurgence in economic activity conducted over the Internet.
